So it ends in six in Boston, Congrats to the Hawks. I’m ridiculously sad but this season was so much more than this one game:
A lockout that we thought would mean no season,
Tragedy struck the city and then this happened
Then, the playoffs
On the brink of elimination in the first round, the Bruins did the impossible and came from behind to win
The Bruins went on to beat the Rangers in 5 (would’ve been 4, but…butt) in a series where a rookie defenseman scored his first NHL goals against one of the greatest goalies in the world.
Then, the Bruins did the most unthinkable: they swept the Penguins, Tuukka with TWO shutouts, no Pens PP goals, and no goals from the best two hockey players of the decade (statistically speaking).
They played through injuries, many of which have not been disclosed yet. Gregory Campbell killed a penalty with a shattered bone in his leg. Nathan Horton led in points in the post season (with a shoulder injury).
And Bergeron…no words.
So the cup goes to Chicago, but the Bruins (and their fans) have so much to be proud of. Now, we wait until October for it to start all over.
